Previously called the TERRAULTRA G 270, this shoe has been renamed TRAILFLY G 270 for Spring/Summer 2022 so that all our trail-specific ultra running shoes now sit within one, easy-to-understand TRAILFLY franchise. The shoe is exactly the same except for the name, meaning it retains all the incredible technologies that led it to win four ‘Trail Running Shoe of the Year’ awards in 2020.
Featuring GRAPHENE-GRIP rubber for the world’s toughest grip and a POWERFLOW MAX foam for a cushioned ride with snappy bounce, the TRAILFLY G 270 is the ultimate shoe for tackling long distances at speed.
The footwear of choice for many top ultra runners, the super-durable TRAILFLY G 270 also boasts a comfort-enhanced upper and spring-loaded BOOMERANG footbed.

This shoe features 4mm cleats and a tread pattern designed to give maximum grip on both road and hardpacked paths & trails.
Both the Trailfly G 270 and original Terraultra G 260s are graded as fit 5 on the width scale, but as the shoes are made from different upper materials, the fit between the models is not exactly the same. Some customer feedback does suggest going up half a size in the Trailfly G 270s can be a good choice, but this is down to personal preference on fit and feel.
We recommend using our size guide to find the best fit for you - add 1-2 cm in length depending on how much extra room in front of the toes you prefer.
Both the Trailfly G 270 and Trailfly Ultra G 300 Max have 4 mm lugs, which are ideal for use on hard & rocky terrain, hardpacked paths & trails and road. However, this is where their similarities end.
The Trailfly Ultra G 300 Max has a 6 mm drop from heel to toe and the world’s first Graphene-enhanced foam called G-FLY. The foam delivers 25% greater energy return and retains optimum levels of underfoot rebound and comfort for endurance-focused long runs. With a unique underfoot ADAPTER-FLEX groove, allowing it to adapt and react to different terrains like no other.
The Trailfly G 270 is ideal for tackling long distances at speed. With the world’s toughest traction, this shoe features a 0 mm heel to toe drop, POWERFLOW MAX midsole foam for a cushioned and responsive ride and Graphene Grip outsole.
Although both the Trailfly Ultra G 300 Max and Terraultra/Trailfly G 270s are a fit 5 on our width scale, the Trailfly G 300s are slightly closer fitting due to the upper design. Since you have already sized up in the Terraultras, the same size in the Trailfly Ultra G 300 Max should hopefully fit similarly for you.
If you are not used to zero drop shoes it can require a transition period for some. We suggest only wearing them for short runs/walks (2-3 miles) to start with, as it can take a bit of time for your body to adapt. It is recommended to introduce them gradually into your training by alternating between the new zero drop shoes and the regular trainers you wear.
With time, you should get used to the zero drop and they should not affect your running.
All our shoes have removable insoles. This is so you can use your own footbeds or orthotics, and also to make them easier to clean and dry.
270: For more speed. Features: POWERFLOW MAX foam and Graphene-Grip rubber.280: For more bounce. Features: FLYSPEED foam and Graphene-Grip rubber.300: For more protection. Features: G-FLY foam and Graphene-Grip rubber.
The 270 is the lightest, has a zero-drop, and the smallest stack height. The foot sits closer to the ground.
The 300 has the most protection, a 6mm drop, and the largest stack height. The foot sits further from the ground.
The 280 sits in between the 270 and the 300 in terms of its weight and stack height. It has an 8mm drop.
Both the 280 and 300 feature our ADAPTER-FLEX technology. This groove cut upwards into the midsole increases flexibility underfoot, something often found lacking in more cushioned footwear. The 270 does not require this technology as the foot already sits closer to the ground with an optimum level of flexibility offered.
