SUSTAINABILITY

We are living in a climate emergency. Vague pledges by countries and companies are meaningless. We as a team are committed to playing our part and taking action.

Since 2003, when INOV8 was founded, we have pushed ourselves to be sustainable in all of our working practices. However, relying on good intentions wasn’t enough to fully understand Inov-8’s role in the climate crisis. In 2020 we developed our first Sustainability Strategy, in partnership with Dr Anne Prahl, an expert at the forefront of sustainable workplaces and design.

During 2023 we reviewed this strategy, measured a full company carbon footprint, and launched our RENOV8 scheme, as our first move towards more circular business design. We can’t wait to share our progress with you in our first Sustainability Report in 2024 – watch this space.

Product Durability

We want our products to be loved for longer. Our use of graphene in our flagship products has resulted in outsoles that are 50% more harder wearing, and midsoles that are 25% more resistant to compressive wear.

In addition, through our RENOV8 project we are expanding our repair capabilities, and aim to refurbish faulty or old products, to give them a second life.

Environmental Impact

We assessed our full carbon footprint for 2023, and will be releasing a report summarising this and our other environmental impacts in 2024 – along with ambitious plans for improvement. We use recycled and more sustainable materials wherever possible. All products will be PFAS-free by 2025.

Circularity

Through our RENOV8 program we now ‘takeback’ any old INOV8 gear dropped off in our brand stores – in any condition.
We refurbish anything that can be reused. We recycle ‘end of life’ footwear with Fast Feet Grinded, a partner we chose after a rigorous screening process. End-of-life clothing and equipment is kept for spare components or made into upcycled unique products.
Pre-loved, repaired items are now sold in some INOV8 stores, depending on stock levels. For more information about RENOV8, click here.

We aim to:

“Protect the mountain terrain and global environment we love by reducing our product’s negative environmental impact across the entire supply chain, while supporting and enabling sustainable lifestyles in our community and beyond.”
