Customer Questions

How many more miles will I get out of a pair of the V2 boots?

There are many variables that will dictate this, including the type of terrain regularly hiked on and how you care for your boots. In testing, our footwear with Graphene-enhanced rubber outsoles (like this boot) has passed 1,000 miles.

To match the durability of our rubber outsole on the ROCLITE G 345 GTX V2, we have improved the durability of both the upper and midsole. The tighter-weave upper material is 40% stronger, while remaining flexible. It also better protects the waterproof GORE-TEX membrane underneath by keeping out more dirt. The POWERFLOW MAX foam midsole is more durable than the POWERFLOW foam on the V1 and gives higher levels of both cushioning and energy return.

It's important to care for your footwear to ensure it lasts as long as possible. Our top tips on caring for your products can be found HERE.

Are the boots waterproof?

Yes, they have a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane that sits underneath the main upper material and works to repel water, while at the same time allowing for breathability and inner-boot comfort.

Does this shoe still feature Graphene?

Yes, the outsole still features the use of Graphene-enhanced rubber, giving you ‘The World’s Toughest Grip.’ Graphene is the world’s strongest material and imparts this strength into the rubber to make it 50% harder wearing.

What are the main differences between the original ROCLITE PRO G 400 GTX and the new V2?

The differences are all in the upper and midsole of the boot. The much-loved, grippy outsole of the boot remains the same as it was on the V1. The changes made improve the support, comfort, protection and durability of the boot, as well as providing more energy return underfoot. These are the updates:

GREATER COMFORT & FIT: NEW! A superior wraparound heel lock system, combined with the heel cupped footbed and Lycra padded ankle cuff, give more support, stability and comfort.

LONGER LASTING: NEW! The super-tough ripstop upper material is stronger and more durable. Its tighter weave repels dirt to protect the waterproof GORE-TEX XCR (Extended Comfort Range) membrane underneath.

EXTRA PROTECTION: NEW! The toe bumper has been extended in length to add further protection at the front, while a flexible rockplate protects the underfoot from sharp debris.

MORE ENERGY: NEW! Upgraded POWERFLOW MAX foam cushioning delivers more energy return and comfort with every stride, so feet and legs feel fresher.

GET A GRIP: TRUSTED! 6mm rubber lugs enhanced by the world’s strongest material – Graphene – give long-lasting tough grip to this tough, protective boot weighing just 400g.

What is the width of the new Version 2 boot?

The ROCLITE PRO G 400 GTX V2 is measured as a Grade 4 on our 1-5 width scale (1 being the narrowest and 5 the widest). This measurement is taken across the width of the toe box. Being a Grade 4, this boot sits towards the wider end of our width fit scale, giving room for the toes and extra comfort.

As a rough guide, Grade 1 represents an industry B fit, while Grade 5 equates to a 2E fit in the forefoot. Learn more about our fit scale HERE.

What kind of hikes can I do in this boot?

You can do any kind of hikes, over any distances and terrain. The V1 of these boots have been pushed to the limits across extreme terrains and in extreme environments – and the V2 is even tougher! Weighing just 400g (average across the size curve), this boot is perfect if you like to feel protected and supported during more demanding hikes and adventures amid tough conditions.

Does this boot have a rockplate?

Yes, it has a flexible rockplate that protects the underfoot from sharp trail debris. It is flexible to allow it to work with the foot and its natural movement. The rockplate in this shoe is called our META-PLATE PRO 6th GEN.
