After the disappointment of not being selected for the World Orienteering Championships (WOC) in Finland I was very motivated to compete at the Scottish 6 Day orienteering festival – the biggest orienteering competition in the UK in terms of participation and quality of competition.

This year the 6 Day was held in Moray, with 4 coastal days and 2 inland, and it seemed like the ideal way to kick-start preparations for the WOC 2015, which will also be held in the area.

After six days of competition I placed 2nd overall, behind Baptiste Rollier, and top Briton. It was a really tough week, both physically and mentally but I was happy with my result.

As always, I raced in inov-8 shoes, alternating between the X-Talon 212 and the Oroc 280, depending on the terrain and weather.
