“The combination of elements that are packaged in the X-CLAW 275 make it a real winner” – Ian Corless, October 2016.
Influential running journalist Ian put the X-CLAW 275 – new for Autumn/Winter 2016 – to the test over a multitude of demanding terrains in the Mourne Mountains (Ireland).
He wrote: “As the trails become muddier and the rocks wetter, I’m convinced that the X-CLAW 275 is going to be one of my ‘go-to’ shoes. It delivers outstanding grip, comfort and protection, while still remaining lightweight and flexible.
“There is also great energy return from the POWERFLOW midsole technology that really does keep you on your toes and provide better shock protection. The toe bumper and full rand are also great additions. They make the shoe really feel as though it’s up for hard and challenging terrains.” Read Ian’s full review.
Same iconic grip. Greater underfoot cushioning
The X-CLAW 275 sits alongside our MUDCLAW and X-TALON shoes as those perfectly suited for running over soft and muddy ground, both off and on the trails. All feature aggressive 8mm deep cleats on the outsole that ensure outstanding grip in sports such as fell running, mountain running, trail running, cross-country running and obstacle course racing.
One of the major differences is that the X-CLAW 275 is the only one to include a POWERFLOW midsole. This delivers more underfoot cushioning, with greater shock absorption and energy return. It weighs 275g and is available only in our standard (wider) fit, which allows for greater comfort in the toe box.
In the USA, iconic running magazine, Competitor, included the X-CLAW 275 in their 2016 summer trail running shoe guide. So impressed were their wear-testers, that the magazine awarded it BEST DEBUT.
Competitor wrote: “Our wear-testers thought the X-CLAW had the best traction of the bunch we tested this spring and loved how it performed on loose gravel, dry rock, sloppy mud and wet grass.” Read Competitor’s full review.
