I’m so thankful for ultra races. This weekend I ran Black Hills 100k. It’s a crazy idea to run 100k/100 miles through the mountains. If it wasn’t for the people that did it before me I would have never thought it was possible. But because of them I had the courage to try & I found out I was able to do it.
I got to see views from the top of mountains, run through amazing valleys, & climb for miles at a time. I can’t describe how rewarding it is. The gift of seeing this course gave me a thrill of a lifetime but on top of that I was fortunate to get to take home 3rd overall female trophy. It is a really cool painted buffalo skull. I will proudly display this and think of the great memories on the trails!
I wore my Roclite 268’s and they were perfect on the rugged trails. There were many water crossing and the Inov-8’s dried quickly. I never changed my shoes and finished with no blisters.

Thank you to my amazing husband Royal & sweet daughter Tasha for crewing me!
